Foodos for Xmas

For Christmas, we wanted to create something that was magical; A twist on a Christmas classic.

We took the Gingerbread house and, instead of getting a ready to build kit, we made one from scratch. Well, sort of, it’s a sugar cookie house not a gingerbread one.

In terms of what was done on the photography side to achieve these types of shots, all you need are some fairy lights, a phone/screen and a basic knowledge of how to use long exposure on a camera.

Light painting is the technique used to create the blue sky: camera shutter opens, phone with a blue image on screen is waved around, phone torch is put on and off in a number of spots, camera shutter closes. All in about 5-8 seconds.
