Bucks Students Union runs has run this campaign every year for 5 or 6 years now, where students get up and out on to the University Concourse for 7:30am and volunteer giving out Fairtrade Bananas, flapjacks, Tea & Coffee in exchange for smiles in an attempt to make people’s Monday mornings a little brighter and less gloomy.
This Monday morning was a little like that as the weather tried to drain us away with patches of rain here and there, but none of us quit. We went out around the town to try to reach more people to brighten up more days, even getting to the station to get those heading into London for a full workday.
Overall, this campaign is always judged to be a success – even when it started. This one good deed at the beginning is enough to go on, even for the students as they can see that they have actively made a positive impact on others’ days.
